"I’ve always been a fan (I think we all have) of pop music that has something to say, speaks to you, and feels like it has more substance. Look at the awful state that mainstream RnB and Hip Hop’s in at the moment, where every song’s about ‘the club’. I like the idea of being able to play music with essentially the same melodies as all that kind if stuff but maybe something that actually means something to me, and us, and other people. Whether or not we have a message is debatable, when you’re singing ‘if you wanna come back it’s alright, it’s alright’. But I think that we’re fans of pop music with something to say, honest sort of emotional pop music with depth, so that’s what we’re trying to create, yeh."
